Ice Rental Cancellations
- Confirmation of an ice rental occurs when written approval is issued by the LCLC and/or payment is received.
- The Renter must notify the LCLC of any cancellations.
- Cancellations for regular ice rentals must be received a minimum of fourteen (14) days prior to the scheduled use.
- Last-minute scheduling changes may be permitted provided the total ice time remains the same or is extended, and the change does not impact staffing. In these cases, the renter will not be charged a cancellation fee.
- Cancellations for tournaments, competitions or special events which exceed five (5) rental hours must be received a minimum of thirty (30) days prior to the scheduled use.
Cancellation Timelines:- More than fourteen (14) days’ notice: Full refund or account credit issued
- Seven (7) to fourteen (14) days’ notice: 50% refund or account credit issued
- Less than seven (7) days’ notice: No refund or credit
- Failure to use booked ice time without prior notice will be considered a no‑show.
- No‑shows are non‑refundable and may affect future booking privileges.
- If the facility is closed due to weather, power outage, mechanical failure, or other circumstances beyond the renter’s control, renters will receive a full refund or account credit.
- If the renter cancels due to weather while the facility remains open, standard cancellation timelines apply.
- Cancellation fees may be waived under limited circumstances where conditions are outside the renter’s control and significantly impact the ability to safely proceed with the booking.
These may include:- Environment Canada weather warnings or official advisories to avoid travel affecting the LCLC area
- Verified unavailability of required instructors, coaches, or supervisors due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness or injury, where their presence is mandatory for the booking and no suitable replacement is available
- Long‑term or bulk bookings (more than 4 consecutive hours) may be governed by a separate agreement.
- Unused ice within a contracted block is non‑refundable unless otherwise stated in writing.
- If the user is continuously cancelling ice time, the General Manager may require prepayment for future ice rentals.
- School based bookings will not be charged for cancellations when schools are closed due to weather on the date of the scheduled ice time.
Spring / Summer Ice Rental Cancellation Policy
- Spring and summer bulk ice rentals (more than 4 consecutive hours) are non‑refundable once confirmed.
- The renter remains responsible for full payment regardless of attendance, program changes, or cancellation reasons.
- Refunds or account credits will only be issued if the facility is closed by the LCLC.
This policy applies regardless of notice provided and supersedes standard cancellation timelines
Room Booking Cancellations
- Cancellations must be submitted in writing (email is acceptable) to LCLC Guest Services at guestserv@lclc.ca
- Cancellations with 7 or more days’ notice will not be subject to cancellation charges. Any refunds will be subject to an administrative fee.
- Cancellations with less than 7 days’ notice will result in 100% of the rental fee being forfeited.
- No refund or account credit will be issued for no-shows or same-day cancellations.
- Weather-related or emergency cancellations initiated by the LCLC will not be charged, and every effort will be made to reschedule the booking
Membership Cancellations
- Membership cancellations require a minimum of 30-days’ written notice.
- Memberships will be cancelled at the end of the 30-day notice period
- A $25 administrative fee for early cancellation is payable at the time of cancellation
- Refunds (if applicable) will be processed through the original method of payment.
- No refunds or adjustments will be issued for membership hold or freeze periods
- Monthly payment plans (if applicable) will be cancelled by the end of the 30-day notice period and no portion of the final monthly payment will be refunded
- Annual memberships billed monthly that are used to access swimming lesson discounts or early registration must remain active for the full duration of the lesson session.
- If the membership is cancelled before the completion of the lesson session, the following will apply:
- A $25 administrative fee will be charged
- The member will be charged the difference between the discounted lesson rate and the full lesson price
- Any remaining membership fees for the duration of the lesson session may still be charged
Example: A membership purchased in October for lessons running until December must remain active until the lessons are complete.
- Where a pattern of repeated early membership cancellations used to access member benefits is identified, the LCLC reserves the right to revoke these privileges.
In such cases, the patron may be charged the equivalent of a full annual membership and restricted from accessing discounted or early registration benefits in future sessions.
Swimming Lesson Cancellations
- Requests for refunds or class transfers may be made up to the third lesson. After this point, no refunds or transfers will be issued.
- If the program has started, an account credit will be prorated based on the number of lessons passed in the session, not the number of lessons attended by the swimmer.
- A full (100%) refund or account credit will be issued if a program is cancelled by the LCLC
- Refunds/withdrawals/transfers can be requested through Guest Services.
- There is an administrative fee of $25.00 for withdrawal.
Missed Lessons
- Regular attendance and practice are important for skill development and participant success.
- The LCLC may occasionally cancel a class due to inclement weather, mechanical issues, or unforeseen circumstances.
- Cancelled classes will be rescheduled for the same day and time during the week following the scheduled program end date.
- If a participant is unable to complete the session due to a medical reason, a prorated credit for the remaining lessons may be applied to their account with a valid medical note.
- Account credits cannot be redeemed for cash.
Refunds, Withdrawals, & Transfers
- Requests for refunds or class transfers will be accepted up to the third scheduled lesson.
- No refunds or transfers will be issued after the third lesson.
- Once a program has started, any approved refund will be issued as a prorated account credit, based on the number of classes that have occurred (not the number attended).
- A full (100%) refund or account credit will be provided if a program is cancelled by the LCLC.
- All refund, withdrawal, or transfer requests must be made through Guest Services.
- A $25.00 administrative fee applies to all withdrawals.
General Information
- To support student learning, interaction between parents/guardians and participants during lessons must be limited.
- Please do not sit directly behind your child’s class or speak to them during the lesson.
- Encouragement and praise are welcome after the class.
- Long hair must be tied back to ensure participants can safely and effectively perform required skills.
- Goggles are not permitted before Swimmer 2
Diving Board Safety
Use of the diving board is at your own risk. By choosing to use the diving board, you acknowledge and accept responsibility for your actions while using it.
- Only one person is permitted on the board at a time.
- No diving or jumping from the sides of the board
- This is not a spring board
- NO bouncing, double jumps or seat (bum) drops allowed.
- Wait until the area below is clear before entering the pool.
- After entering the water, surface immediately, swim to the side.
- Only swimmers who are permitted to swim independently in the deep end may use the diving board.
- Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) and flotation belts are NOT permitted on the diving board.
- Remove goggles and masks before using the diving board.
- Twists, flips, or advanced maneuvers are discouraged unless the participant has received formal training from a certified diving coach.
- Failure to follow these rules may result in removal from the diving area by aquatic staff.
Lane Swimming Etiquette
The LCLC welcomes lane swimmers of all abilities. The following lane swim etiquette guidelines are to ensure the flow of lane swim remains welcoming to all users. Please refer to the aquatic schedule to determine when and the number of lanes available for fitness swims.
When swimming lengths, please follow this etiquette:
- Choose a lane based on your swimming speed
- We share lanes, expect to share with other swimmer of similar abilities
- Enter a lane from either the shallow or deep end wall to indicate your intent to join a lane
- If there are two swimmers sharing a lane, it is acceptable to swim side-by-side instead of in circles.
- Circle Swim – stay to the right of the black line on the bottom, swim counterclockwise, up one side of the lane and down the other
- A tap on the foot is an indication that someone wants to pass, allow the swimmer to pass when you reach the wall
- Only swim butterfly if you have the lane to yourself
- During lane swim, one double lane is set aside for swimmers who prefer not to use lane ropes. Please keep the lane clear
Change Room Rules
- Children 5 and under may use the male or female changes rooms with their parent or guardian.
- The Family Change Room is open to everyone. It is gender-neutral, inclusive and the most accessible option.
- In the Family Change Room, please keep covered.
- NO nudity allowed in shared spaces.
- Cameras and video devices are not allowed in any change room or washroom
Therapy Pool Rules
Maximum Capacity: 19
- Use the therapy pool at your own risk.
- No children 7 or under allowed in the therapy pool.
- Children 8-13 must be with an adult.
- Do not put your head under the water.
- Limit your time in the therapy pool to 10 minutes.
- If you are pregnant, elderly, or have heart problems, talk to your doctor before using the therapy pool.
- During busy times access to the therapy pool may be restricted to adult use only.
- Children are not allowed in the therapy pool during swim lesson times.
Children & Supervision Rules

Sticks & Pucks Rules
- CSA approved hockey helmets and hockey gloves are required for ALL participants.
- Participants under the age of 18 must wear a helmet with a full face cage
- Children 5 and under must be accompanied on the ice by a parent or guardian.
- No scrimmages, pick-up games or organized play.
- Slapshots are not permitted
- Only participants wearing helmets are allowed on player benches.
- Helmets, sticks and pucks available for public.
Public Skate Rules
- Helmets are required for all participants.
- Skate in the same direction as the group flow.
- No rough play, excessive speed, weaving through other skaters, or skating against the flow.
- The following are not permitted during public skating:
- Sticks or pucks
- Games of tag or racing
- Figure skating manoeuvres such as spins or jumps
- Horseplay of any kind
- Skate aids are available to help beginner skaters. Skate aids are not for high-speed skating. Misuse of the skate aids may result in removal from the ice.
- Wheelchairs and strollers are allowed on the ice. The occupant must wear an approved helmet, and wheels must be clean before entering the ice.
General Arena Rules
- Helmets are mandatory for all skaters, regardless of age. Helmets must be CSA approved.
- Children under the age of 12 must be actively supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
- No outdoor footwear is allowed on the ice surface.
- Ice re-surfacing machine must be completely off the ice and all doors closed before anyone enters the ice.
- Food and beverages are not allowed on the ice at any time.
- Do not climb on the rink boards or hang from safety netting
- Please report vandalism, damage or safety concerns to arena staff
- Please place all garbage in bins provided.
- Skates and helmets available for public use.
- Unsafe or reckless behaviour will not be tolerated. Staff may remove participants from the ice if behaviour is deemed unsafe. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Pushing or intentional contact
- Skating in a way that puts others at risk
- Ignoring staff instructions
- All users must treat others, staff, and the facility with respect. Foul language, inappropriate behaviour, harassment or discrimination are not permitted anywhere in the facility, including the ice surface, dressing rooms, and common areas.
- Arena staff may stop an activity or clear the ice at any time if safety becomes a concern.
- Failure to follow arena rules or staff direction may result in removal from the ice or facility without refund.
- Repeated or serious violations may lead to suspension of facility privileges.
Gym

- Must wipe down equipment

General Aquatic Centre Rules
- No outdoor shoes on the pool deck.
- Shower before entering any pool.
- No running on the deck.
- No horseplay, spitting or blowing water.
- Wear appropriate swimwear at all times.
- No food or glass containers on the pool deck or in the pool area. Reusable water bottles only.
- Do not enter the pool if you are sick or have open sores.
- You cannot use the aquatic centre if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- A swim test may be required to use the diving board or swim in deep water.
- Children under the age of 3 and any individual who is not fully toilet trained must wear a swim diaper or approved swim brief.
- Diapers are not to be changed on deck.
- Diving is only allowed in the deep end of the lap pool.
- No cells phones or cameras anywhere in the aquatic centre.
- The LCLC is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.
- Listen and follow instructions from the lifeguards at all times.
Whistle Signals
- One short whistle blast: Pay attention and look at the lifeguard for instructions.
- One long whistle blast: Exit the pool immediately.
